Bella gets a new hat every fall. This year she wanted a long, squishy, warm hat. (Her words) So, I made her a long, squishy, warm hat. Keep reading for directions.
Toddler/Preschooler/Child sized (it fits all my kids, but is tight on my head.)
Size US 11 circular and double pointed needles.
Two colors worsted weight yarn.

Guage – 4 stitches to an inch
With both yarns held together cast on 56 stitches.
Rows 1-5: *knit 3, purl 1
Row 6: Purl
Row 7-11: Knit
Row 12: Purl
Repeat rows 7-12 3 times.
Row 31, 32: Knit
Row 33: *Knit 9, k2tog*
Row 34, 35: Knit
Row 36: Purl
Row 37, 38: Knit
Row 39: *Knit 8, k2tog*
Row 40,41: Knit
Row 42: Purl
Row 43, 44: Knit
Row 45: *Knit 7, k2tog*
Row 46, 47: Knit
Row 48: Purl
Row 49-53: Knit
Row 54: Purl
Row 55, 56: Knit
Row 57: *Knit 6, k2tog*
Row 58, 59: Knit
Row 60: Purl
Row 61-65: Knit
Row 66: Purl
Continue that pattern only lower the knit number on the decrease rows by one each time. After the set where you knit 2, k2tog you will NOT include the next set of just knit no decrease. You will knit 2 rows, knit 1, k2tog, knit 2 rows, purl 1 row, and then repeat once more, and then bind off.
